JJ Mathes/Jermm continues to use the fashionable Caldera Cone as hiking headwear at the NEW blog location found here: jermmsoutside.com :-)
Elizabeth Thomas with her Keg-F system on the Colorado Trail. She notes: "I'm absolutely loving it--I've got some really long hauls between resupply points and the whole using only 15 mL of Heet to get a 2 cup boil thing is a lifesaver, especially hiking so late in season when all the tiny stores in these resupply towns are out of Heet!"
Paul Cronshaw on his PCT section hike from Lake Tahoe to Ashland reports that: "Still in my sleeping bag, I used it every day, with an esbit to heat water for my oatmeal breakfast; at dinner I used biomass twigs to prepare meals. I loved the way it left a zero ash footprint, unlike many of the hideous fire pits. A great stove for the PCT!"
Keith Foskett writes: "The Caldera Cone system by Trail Designs has been around for a while but far from being threatened by other newer designs, it still holds its ground and it's the other manufacturers still trying to make up the ground and come up with something as brilliant. It ticks all the right boxes for a backpacking stove: it's light, compact, beautifully simple, durable, efficient and relatively cheap."
Check out sectionhiker's backpacking stove review where he notes
"The best alcohol stove/windscreen system I’ve used so far is the Trail Designs Caldera Cone, which burns very efficiently."

"I can clearly see that the Trail Designs Guys have been in the Game for awhile. The design and products used are seamless."

Chris Townsend, TGO's gear editor and long-distance expert, writes a nice article in the Spring 2012 TGO issue (page 68) on the joys of wood fires while camping. That's him pictured with his Sidewinder!
JJ Mathes has done some pretty clever cartoon work using our cone as fashion! :-)

March 2012, pg 128, TGO Magazine's Terry Abraham did an article called "Ancient hills and new technology".....mostly about electronic communication....but it's also nice to see a Caldera Cone in the picture with that kind of subject. :-)
Hikin' Jim shows you how to cook an omelet with a Ti-Tri!
"I think this triple fuel system is so darned useful that I really do consider it the ultimate lightweight stove system for mixed fuel stoving."

"....my pick for an alcohol stove, a complete system, the Caldera Cone......for

"It really works much better for me as a cooking system than my old Trangia system did and I can see it replacing my MSR Superfly as my goto stove."
